Spook Hill makes frighteningly pointed rocks & blues beats.

Four musicians with a rich musical background put a funky twist on a genre which spans across nations.

With a rich musical and personal heritage that reaches into their country’s darker past, Spook Hill has been a constant on the music scene, bringing their take on the blues genre to their audience. These four gentlemen have been playing together for many years, which is very evident when you listen to how in tune they are with each other in their songs. This is also evident in their easy, comfortable manner with which they carry themselves on stage.

Something about their music puts them just as much at home in a smoky bar somewhere in the USA’s deep south as it does on the stage of a rock n’ roll bar in Australia. The vocalist’s raspy voice is in perfect complement to the impeccably timed guitar chords and drum beats of each piece. Most evident in Last Thing on Your Mind, this quality is what blurs the line as far as defining the band’s genre. It’s what gives their blues sound a touch of rock.

With an EP out just last year, the band has been working on getting their name and music out to the masses with online videos, reviews & profiles in local media and of course the most effective means of them all – live shows. Their next performance will be on April 2nd at the X&Y Bar, as part of the Emergenza Music Festival where the guys will play for a chance to move forward in the international battle of the bands.
