Real Now: surf rock from people who can’t surf

Melbourne band, Real Now, enters the first round of Emergenza competition

March 27th marks the opening night for Emergenza competition in Australia, making Melbourne the first stop in the epic battle of the bands. Among the incredible contenders vying for the coveted title is a four-piece rock band that have described their music as “surf rock from people who can’t surf”. While these boys are definitely endowed with wit and charm, it is their music that really makes them stand out from the pack.

What truly makes Real Now unique is that no one can pin down exactly what their musical genre is. They have mastered the art of blending different types of musical styles together to create their own original sound. It is this sound, coupled with creative lyrics and a powerful stage presence that make this band real contenders in regards to this competition.

Real Now takes every element you know and love about rock and roll, and somehow manages to develop it into a single, melodic sound. Showcasing a dancing front man and three awesome instrumentalists, they guarantee an entertaining live performance. Be sure to come out to The Espy on Wednesday, March 27th to support Real Now!
