2013 is going to be a big year for this five piece band from Eastern Melbourne. They welcomed in the year with the release of their new single – Burning in the Rain which they say is just a taste of things to come. Lots of live shows and more music is come the way of fans in the next few months. Undoubtedly this has the band’s nearly 200 Facebook fans pink with glee. Making sure that fans have access to their music, Aviar has their songs posted online in addition to a well managed Facebook profile and a YouTube channel.
A hardcore vocal sound mixed with some very melodic guitars and powerful drum beat slots the and quite neatly into the hardcore/punk genre. The band’s new single is a classic example of this style in a band of this era. Just a taste of a strong screaming vocal followed by a clear, crisp sung verse and chorus. Even though they classify themselves as hardcore I would say this is very easy listening. It’s no wonder Aviar has as many fans as they do, as their music seems to carry a universal appeal, which, combined with the lyrics of the songs, give it a universal appeal. I look forward to their performance in the Emergenza Festival - I predict big things for them.
