The only thing better the one token female keyboardist in the rock band is two ladies who not only play the backing instruments, but where one is the front girl – the one who brings it all together. Tiger & the Rogues is the founded by young woman whose passion for music stems from her childhood and influences from the great age of rock. Not so focused on the mushy ballads many bands are famous for, these guys put on an energetic show with music and songs that instead, make you dance and tap your foot along.
Since the band came together in 2010 they have had a few line up changes but the authentic of what they stand for has remained and they’ve been taking their show to local venues to gain as much exposure as possible. They recently had the chance to play the Factory Theater in Sydney – one of the city’s premiere music venues. While they did not move on to the final round of the Emergenza Music Festival, they put on an excellent, energetic show witnessed by an enormous audience who was moved to their feet by the pure rock & roll in front of them.
A very well synchronized foursome, Tiger & the Rogues offer music that is authentic and fun. Every songs has a distinct beat and sound but one of the main common elements is a strong drum and bass section where the snare is a prominent sound. The lead vocal is melodic and strong, reminiscent in tone to several popular contemporary artists. You’re Alright happens to one of my fav songs, which, coincidentally is also the band’s fav as well! It is a song inspired by the bond the band shares and aside from the meaningful lyrics, the music itself delivers on the band’s promise of making you getup and move!
