The state final is here. We know you know it because you've been told. But what you don't know is the fact that these bands have spent the last few weeks rehearsing and going over their set a million times. This is the one for them. This is the gig that will make or break a band. The most important band competition in the world is not just another gig but an opportunity to walk on imporatnt stages and prove your worth in Germany.

Yes Germany. Where we all have fun indeed, where we drink copiuos amounts of beer, down half a bottle of jagermeister, where we eat more because it's the rock and roll catering back stage. Yes, all that. But it's also a huge festival with a big stage and a hungry audience. Not your average cynical bunch in a tiny pub. We are talking about 30,000 kids hungry for music with an esxcuse to party. They get in on a thursday night, pitch their tents, buy all the wellington boots available in the town and then raid the supermarkets of all alcohol. This is the first part.

The idea I'm trying to give you here is that these kids are at the festival to have a good time. It's an excuse to party as we said and an Australian band will be an amazing excuse for these « hungry for music » kids under the big stage. For three days an Aussie band will feel like total rockstars. Well, when your name is on the bill with Iggy Pop or Pendulum chances are you will definetely feel like a superstar.

Especially when you have a team of stage technicians looking after you. So in essence what we are saying is that Brisbane bands can firstly get to Sydney for the national final and then be in front of the judges. Do you wanna help local talent ?? Get to the Final at the Hi-Fi bar on Saturday December 8th and push some Queenslanders all the way!
