Eight friends, talented musicians and music affascinaos have come together to form a unique sounding ensemble, an eclectic mix of Latin, funk, hip hop and reggae. With a musical combination that encompasses these varied yet equally energetic music styles, a good time is guaranteed – in fact, the audience at Blue Candy’s shows is no stranger to working up a sweat right in front of the stage. The collective energy of the members and the fans have contributed to the success of the band. They have played the part of opening act for several international performers and are finally taking center stage themselves – as one of the Sydney finalists of the Emergenza Festival. A trip to Germany awaits the winner of this show, and a chance to play the Taubertal Open Air Music Festival alongside bands representing countless other countries and music styles.

With so many instruments and sounds, the band’s music can transport the listener to a number of places all at once. Depending on the song that could be a Caribbean island, a Latin club or scene from the 90s that merges KirsKross and Ricky Martin. In this unique way, they manage to tell their story and relate to the audience with equal feeling and precision.  Congas, guitars and a drum section all come together to create this unique sound. Accompanied by a vocalist whose voice matches the genre so well, it’s as if he was made to sing this stuff, the music flows and compliments the personalities of the band members as well as their musical intentions.
