Formed just this past year, the metal core ensemble Blansko District has already achieved a great deal of success. Aside from having won several local battle of the bands contest, they have landed in the final round of the biggest event for emerging bands – the Emergenza International Music Festival. The are super pumped to be a part of this event an are ready and set to wreak havoc on the stage at the HiFi in December. You can bet they are hard at work promoting this super important showcase.
Named after a district in the Czech republic, Blansko District is ready to take on the world. They are particularly after the local moshers, whose heads they promise to make spin with the power and energy of the music. The energy of these artists is undeniable, it even comes across in the photos on their band’s Facebook profile, where the musicians are seen jumping and thrashing across the stage. Their energy is infectious and the crowd responds well to them – hence the win and their opportunity and a shot to play the Sydney final.
With the strong drum double-bass drum beat, so characteristic of the genre, Blansko District bring to their fans just what you would expect from a metal/core band. The intro to their songs are a melodic mix of distorted guitars and bass tones joined by the vocals, sung at times but mostly presented in the metal growls that set this genre apart from all the rest. Terror Sober, their single available online is a piece that appears to be exemplary of the genre and what the band puts out for their fans – a great deal of musical power and vigor.
