With a variety of influences ranging from Oasis all the way across the spectrum to Kanye West these three young musicians came together just last year to create amazing and influential music of their own, hoping to reach the same caliber as their idols. Their indie rock music includes sounds that are somewhat rare in their genre, which is perhaps what’s propelled them to such heights in such a short amount of time. They are now one of the 14 finalists from Melbourne’s edition of the Emergenza international music festival. In December, they will be playing for a chance to travel to Sydney, for Australia’s national final.
Orange has already taken to their band’s Facebook page to promote the show and get as much of their fanbase as possible to support them during this important evening. They have come up with creative ways to get their fans out to the semi final show, such a few discounted tickets and even a mascot. It’s band marketing ideas such as this, which, alongside great music, make for an equally great up & coming band… one which is likely to reach their full potential and engage the highest number of fans.
At its essence an indie rock ensemble, Orange has gone the extra mile to incorporate keyboards and synths into their songs to set themselves apart from the rest… I would say they’ve done this very well. All of the classic indie elements are present – the guitar riffs, the interesting rhythm section but the little bit of electronic overlay adds a colorful dimension to the music. The lead singers distinctive vocal sounds is key to what will set these guys apart from other, similar bands. ‘Walk in the Park’ allows all of the musicians to showcase their particular talent and the chorus seems to be all about the
singer, as his voice carries and reigns over the music. They will be strong contenders for a trip to Sydney this December…
