With just the right amount of humility the four boys who make up Lucha Libre present themselves as an ‘alright’ band with various musical and personal influences who sing about everything and nothing… just the way music should be. After all, we all prioritize differently, right? Lucha Libre played Brisbane’s semi final round of the Emergenza Festival a few weeks ago and won first place that night – sending them on a straight path to the finals.
They are now hard at work reminding everyone about the show that could take them even further… right to the festival’s national final in Sydney. Everyone approaches promotion for a battle of the bands show differently, but the level of commitment when dealing with and international showcase for emerging artists such as is Emergenza, is usually much higher. Lucha Libre and their fans will need to work super hard to make sure their band marketing & promotion are at their best
Some very interesting and melodic guitar intros appear to be the style these guys favor. The fact that these melodies reappear periodically throughout the songs give each piece sense of wholeness and connectivity from the start right through the end. This particularly struck me in Places. I really enjoyed the guitar intro and enjoyed even more that a similar sound found its way into and around the chorus. Another strong feature of this band are the melodic harmonies & solo vocals. It’s clear these guys are talented and I can’t want to see how they make out against the competition at the final!
