Formed just over a year ago, Shadows at Play have worked hard to bring their music and their band to the heights which they have reached in such a short time. Just this past week, the four boys from the Blue Mountains played a concert in the Emergenza Music Festival at the Factory Theater and their kick-butt performance won them a spot in the festival’s final round in Sydney at the Metro Theater in December.
Aside from working hard at their music and performance, as any successful band knows, you must also work hard at promoting yourselves. These guys appear to have done just that, not only do they have a large crowd following, which helped them with their win, they also have done some serious social networking for their band and have quite a strong online presence as far as their music.
Their soft folksy acoustic sound resonates with the crowd – and certainly resonated with me as well! The melodies and vocal are in perfect synch, picking up strength and weakening again in perfect unison and just at the right time. Love & Logic stands as the perfect signature for Shadows at Play, it’s soft yet energetic and the slight country overtones are a testament to their versatility and a reason for their success thus far.
