1) Emergenza is the biggest and most important festival in the world for up-coming bands. It started in 1991 and it is now present in 36 countries, 184 cities and 4 continens. In Australia the festival runes between February and December and it is present in 3 cities: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
2) Every gig has up to 8 groups. Every group has 25 minutes performance time.
3) The full backline, the technical team, the club and the whole production team is provided by Emergenza. All the musicians have to bring, is their own personal instruments.
4) Enroling online is free. Only when the date and gig is formally confirmed, the group pays a one off deposit of 100AU$ will is refundable based on their first gig and public attendance. There's no other costs or deposits.
5) Emergenza is against “pay to play”. All groups will be rewarded based on their paying public present at the gig.
6) Unlike other festivals, Emergenza does not oblige anybody to sell tickets. We are absolutely convinced that every single band can put the effort and promote as they wish so without any interference or influence.
7) All groups taking part will get free distribution for their songs on i-Tunes and another 35 major online distribution platforms.
8) Every year, some of the best bands are recorded and produced in professional studios (regardless of their placing throughout the competition). Click here to find out more.
9) In every city there's diffenet phases. A first round concert, a semi-final and a final one.
10) During the final, there's a jury present voting and choosing the winners.
11) in the 2 intial steps the vote is allocated by:
- a) All musicians that play or have played in the festival (that always get free entry to the venues)
- b) The public present at the club (that pay a ticket to attend the gig)
13) The finalists that win their local final will be sent to the national final at Emergenza's expense. ( trip and hotel)
14) At every single final event, the best musicians are rewarded with prizes such as guitars, Amplifiers, Drum kits, Cymbals, 4 etc etc.
15) The winners of the national Australian final will take part at the international final in Germany, all expenses paid (flights to Europe, transportation, hotel and meals) to the Taubertal festival
16) The festival overall winners will get a fully professional studio production with international distribution, a promotional campaign in 12 countries and a European tour all produced, supplied and sponsored by the Emergenza organization
