ODETTE: Sunny Spain gives the Festival one of the best pop bands in years.

Maiorca, Barcelona, Spain....All there. Medal contenders display their skills first on stage on our last day

Barcelona has given us the best soccer team in the past ten years and we all know their skill. Well, what we found out is that the national Spanish winners from Barcelona is probably “champions league” material as well........If Odette were a soccer team they would be competing in the Champions league for sure because they are a quality band.

Superlative tunes played with electronic loops and a keyboard player doubling as violinist was what we saw on the big stage. The first band of the day played their set with coolness under the scorching sun that it made us feel all freshly “chilled'.

Yes, we talk about the sun every time but this time it was hot...very hot! Could it been that they brought it with them? Possibly. They made a point that they were from sunny Maiorca so it was the reason we were getting sun-tanned while listening to their excellent tunes.

Weather chit chatting aside, Odette were by far the best opening band of the 3rd day in the last 5/6 years. Gracias Espana!
