After taking Germany by storm, Australia’s own THE VANDOLLS are working their magic in the old continent. Timmy and some of the boys from the band are currently in London working their magic and writing songs for an upcoming tour of England (as well as partying with me). Their contact with International winners Gloria Cycles is also a plus since the interest is flying around this band like flies around things expelled from bodies (how else could I describe turds?), If all goes well, the boys could be special guests at the Emergenza London shows Early next year. In other extremely important news, the Adelaide semi final event is about to kick off and word from our own Aussie beat-masters (no sexual innuendo/jokes here please) is that it’s going to be a cracker. Bo and Pete told us this morning that the bands are psyched to get on stage and show off at Fowler’s live, Adelaide’s premier venue. If I remember well, Fowler’s live is an incredible venue with a great sound system to blow off any rock and roll punter (in the acoustic sense). Judging and listening from the bands myspaces the public should be in for a treat! Anything from punk to heavy rock, from Indie to Metal……..it all sounds incredibly exciting. Some interesting names as well…….the ones that caught my attention were The jetpack escapee scene, A death in Venice (good film by the way), The funky Scum Rumour (by the way check out their song Twiddley Diddley Bang Bang and tell me that’s not a brilliant bass line) and Cartoon Allstars. These are some of the bands taking part in what can only be described as the “crème de la crème” of South Australia (why do always feel like we need to use French sayings? Does it make us cool?). So get your arse down to Fowler’s live this week-end for 3 days of rock and support original local music regardless of style, sound or look……..All music should be heard!
