    THE SEARCH FOR AUSTRALIA'S BEST

UNSIGNED BAND GETS ON THE WAY!

It has only been a few days and already the interest is overwhelming. As reported before, the Emergenza international music festival is starting soon in Australia in 3 cities. The search for the ultimate original rock band will land them a spot at the Taubertal festival in Germany playing in front of 30,000 people, sharing the stage with megastars and rock royalties. In the past few years bands such as The Cure, The Darkness and the more underground r&r heroes like Turbonegro have performed on the Taubertal stage. An Australian band will be chosen from a panel of judges this year in December at the Metro in Sydney after a few rounds of live performances in smaller venues in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney, where they would need to prove their worth. The pre-selection process is on the way and the current interviews are in place. "Excitement is an understatement", says American tour manager Vin Ritter. "This is my first time in Australia interviewing and meeting bands and you can already feel the buzz". Vin went also on record to say that the live pub rock scene in Australia is definitely healthy and going strong. Traditionally Australia has always been a great breeding ground for rock bands but now even more so since the last 4 or 5 years the world has focused on such brilliant bands as The Vines, Jet and Wolfmother as well as discovering the best kept secret through live gigs: The Jon Butler trio. In the past few days more than 400 bands from the 3 cities mentioned above, have enrolled online to be part of the Emergenza festival. Along with our super professional Aussie partners, Billy Hyde Music, our new friends, we are looking to put onstage some of the best those cities have to offer. The amps are ready, the mics are set, the stage is equipped... all you need to do is pump your songs through the PA on that stage and show what you’ve got and we will do the rest. We’ll take Australian music to Europe and show the world what you are capable of...ready to rock???
