brokempty has been in the making for years. Jeremy and Jacqueline met in high school through a mutual love of good music. Jeremy already had a band (Resident Alien) during that time but had lost the bass player to a military move (common for the Lawton area). So, he asked Jacqueline if she would like to learn bass. After determining that he liked her more than just a friend and some bad advice from another friend (thank-you, Danny), he decided they couldn't date and be in the band. So, Jacqueline's dreams of playing bass came to a halt. Well, Resident Alien eventually fell apart due to the rest of the band moving or losing interest. It was around this time that Jeremy had begun to jam with Greg, otherwise known as Kerry. Jacqueline went to church with Greg and had known him for years. So, the three of them got together along with the awesome dad and drummer of one of Jacqueline's friends and started jamming. Then, tragedy struck. Greg was so awesome of a guitar player that another band decided they needed him. So he went with them. Around this time, the dad/drummer had a job offer out of town, so he could no longer play with them. It was Jeremy and Jacqueline alone again. (Oh yeah, Jeremy finally got over his girlfriend in the band complex!) So, they sought out a drummer and a bass player. Through the years, they would find one or the other. Sometimes they found both at the same time, but for some reason things just never worked out. They played shows together, but each show seemed to have a different line-up of drummers and bassists. They just couldn't find people that had the time...sure the people were committed but they did have other lives to lead. Then, one day, an amazing thing happened! After a few months of being in a funk over the departure of an awesome bassist and drummer within a couple of weeks of eachother, Jacqueline met Aaron. Not only could Aaron play the guitar awesomely, he could also play the drums. And, he didn't suck! It was just what they were looking for! There was one problem. Aaron lived in the backlands of upstate NY. After much convincing and promises of free food, Aaron decided to pick up his life and move to the black hole known as Lawton, Oklahoma. This is where they are today. We just lost another bassist due to age, but we think that the Greg otherwise known as Kerry is going to play bass for us, so we will let you know.
