What do you get when you take the core of the band `Wacked Up`, put it in a mixer, throw in the whirling style of a master pianist with the raw voice of the lead singer and bass player of `Typhoid Fever`, and blend it into one solid team of musicians?
Inspired by bands like `Dream Theater`, `Prime STH.`, `Pennywise`, `Biohazard` and `Green Lizard` three friends started making music somewhere in november 2005. Jasper, Martijn en Marco noticed that forming a band without a drummer was pretty hard, along with the fact that it sucks to rehearse without some solid percussion. In januari 2006 they found the solution to their problems in the form of an Eric.
Next job was to find a bandname. After a long period of brain draining thoughts, they realised that it´s not about the name. Like Juliet in Shakespearse´s Romeo and Juliet once said: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell as sweet." So if it´s not the name that makes the music, it could be just as simple as taking the first letter of each of the members names. And thus JEMM was born.
Although the individuals each have their own experience with performing, they have not played often in this occupation. Past gigs have been in small cafe´s and a highschool. But, that is no reason to write JEMM of as a band that is still in its early simple fase! Their music, that lays somewhere between alternative, progressive and punkrock, has its complex moments. So try to keep up!
