When the gates of the wind farm in Druiburg usually open, we are there. This is the greenest of all festivals. 31st of May and 1st of June, when the 33 windmills run, so that the melodies can be heard all over the “Harzvorland”, the 4000 Festival visitors transform a former radar station of the Soviet Union to a provincial Woodstock. When even a popular German band such as “Tonbandgerät” says: “This Festival is...”kind of different”, everyone who misses out can be sure to get a ticket for the following year. This is fast becoming one of Eastern Germany's most popular and cool festivals and continues to grow in both size and reputation. Way beyond the city boundaries it counts as the biggest Newcomer-Open-Airs in Berlin offering the stars of tomorrow. Putting on stage some of the best of underground bands that are on their way to blow up and become huge. The best “showcasing festival” in the open air field. With this Nonprofit-Festival the honorary Team supports uprising musicians from the Region and offers up to 5000 visitors musical diversity on a high level.

Since the start of the festival, 19 years ago, Rock for People has grown continuously to be the biggest and most popular Outdoor Festivals in the Czech Republic. With the highest musical level on show in a peaceful atmosphere, it offers a full 4 days festival in the first week of july packed full of international superstars in the Alternative/Punk/Ska/Hardcore Scene in the gorgeous surrounding of Hradec Kralove. With over 30,000 visitors, the Rock for People got several awards by many Rock magazines and reader surveys with the “Best Event of the Year” and the Best Mid Size Festival Award”. A true gem. The best in the Czech Republic indeed.

The Happiness Festival between Karlsruhe and Pforzheim has over 5000 visitors. A rather smallish affair of a festival, but always offers a great line-up. This year is no less important with Hiphop, Indie and Metal and provides therewith a very cool mixture in a fantastic settings in a relaxed atmosphere.

Once a year the free&easy Festival takes place on the compound of the Backstage Club. Like all the other 'free for all' outdoor festivals this small but interestingly introspective festival can be seen on a glade in Bad Waldsee, its free entrance policy makes this not only a happy affair but a true positive event. Young upcoming bands are welcome and get their chance to play next to more popular bands. A great way to mix the local underground music scene with the more established one.

The Trebur Open Air fest, next to Rüsselsheim, with its regular 6.000 visitors one of the coolest smaller festivals. Since 2001 the international Emergenza final takes place at the Taubertal Festival. The special element of this Open Air is the beautiful position on the bottom of the middle age town of Rothenburg, in the valley of the Tauber between woods and meadows which builds a natural arena and makes this setting a truly wonderful and unique one. Beside the really cool German/Czech Lineup the visitors can enjoy music workshops, guitar workshops and tutoring and climbing. Sports, culture and music in the 'rocks'.

On top of the idyllic high plateau of Wolfach, the Moosenmättle Open Air takes place every year offering a blend of old and new. A special event for young, talented newcomer bands where they get the chance to share the bill with established groups and musicians. The new bands who are selected by careful agents, get their chance to play their own songs on the Moosenmättle. Another showcasing event where the stars are going on the way up. The headliner will be a regional established band as tradition wants, to finish with a big bang.

The Bergfunk Open Air is the most famous summer festival of the region. It is held on top of the Funkerberg in Königs Wusterhausen – an event made directly in the middle of the beautiful setting and incomparable nature. The most beautiful natural resource blends with the musical culture that is the Bergfunk Open air festival. In the context of the 'culture days of Königs Wusterhausen', this is the open air event that is part of the local government push to have music and arts in the area. The favorite Rockspektakel on the Hamburger Rathausmarkt will offer again three days of Rock'n'Roll for free. Northern Germany's best and up-coming bands will play with the 'old rock and roll stars' in this great atmosphere in the middle of the most fun northern German town. A true staple in Hamburg where the Hamburg winning band gets to play the huge stage.
