The Funky Fishmen
The 6 young, talented guys of The Funky Fishmen met the challenge of opening the first night of the Emergenza Nordic Finals with flying colours. Starting out with an intriguing intro, they knew how to attract their crowd’s attention right from the first note. Funky beats, jazzy saxophone passages mixed with strong lyrics and an upbeat vibe – that’s what makes up the sound of the band’s well-arranged songs. There was not one person in the room that wasn’t swaying to the music.
Malto Klee
A young lad, a flashy stage outfit and a computer – that’s the one-man project Malto Klee. His music is defined by a mixture of carefully chosen sounds, experimental electronic beats and memorable hooks that send you into a trance. The passion that he puts into his innovative music project became clearly visible and hovered in the air all through his show.
Kalaset
Kalaset had already proven themselves once before in the Emergenza Southern Denmark finals and you could definitely tell that they had come to Copenhagen to deliver again. Right from the beginning, they started out strong and self-confident with catchy melodies, deep lyrics and an energetic performance. Big build ups, unexpected rhythmic changes and break-downs define their unique sound that made the crowd put on their dancing shoes.
Sugar Lava
Jazzy rhythms, funky bass and soulful vocals – that’s the “feel-good” music of Sugar Lava. The band electrified the audience with their catchy, well-arranged tunes in an energetic performance. The two vocalists – male and female – complemented each other nicely and produced a unique sound that the crowd just could not get enough of. They knew how to put on a show and interact with the audience and you could see them gain more confidence on stage with every song they played.
Ronja
If you think that one girl all by herself on a big stage – like the one at Pumpehuset – might seem lost, then Ronja will prove you wrong. As soon as she set foot on that stage, she made it her home and enchanted the crowd with her beautiful voice backed up by well-arranged mysterious sounds that transmitted a very Scandinavian vibe. The unique sound of her music in combination with Ronja’s energetic, emotive dance moves left her audience hypnotized. Girlpower at its best!
Mirror to the Moon
The quartet from Silkeborg, that had won the Emergenza Western Denmark finals, fired up the audience with their own customized mix of Rock, Pop, Indie, Rap and Grunge. Mirror to the Moon entered the stage like professionals and opened their show with an impressive intro, showing off the drummer’s skills. Great arrangements, complicated rhythmic changes and sudden break-downs combined with a powerful, driven performance made the crowd sing and dance and left them wanting more. Rock on!
Make Believe
Drums, bass, vocals – and one or two ukulele passages – is all you need to have a good time. The music of Make Believe makes you think of far-away places spreading a holiday feeling and letting you forget about the stress of your everyday life. The trio put on a great show, really enjoying themselves on stage and were able to transfer this ease and positivity to the crowd.
Val-D & Mihl
The Hip Hop / Rap duo Val-D & Mihl put on a great show combining tight beats with strong rhymes performed in a professional, confident way. They knew how to interact with their audience and could impress with their stage presence. The duo was a real crowd-pleaser and enjoyed the party they were having, singing and dancing with their fans.
WIDE
Two female lead vocalists, backed by a drummer and a DJ – that is WIDE. Their music transmitted a positive vibe that seemed to spread across the room. Powerful song-writing mixed with electronic beats and the soulful voices of the two lead singers created a very unique sound that swept the crowd right off their feet. Their passion for music was clear to see and their performance was highly professional through and through. A band that clearly belongs on a stage!
Aploud
“Pop with a twist of Rock” – that’s how the four members of Aploud describe their music. Catchy rhythms mixed with strong vocals, empowering lyrics and a positive attitude that is contagious, fascinated the audience. Their performance was captivating and energetic and really got people moving. Aploud did not only light up the room – with the neon lights they brought along – but also the hearts and minds of their audience.
Social Addiction
The three guys of Social Addiction create a sound that hits you right in the face. Heavy riffs, dominant drums and powerful vocals made people bang their heads. Even though the trio was on later at night, they woke their audience right back up initiating a Wall of Death and making them jump. Their performance was well-structured, professional and thrilling, and you could feel their energy right from the start. Heavy fucking metal – that’s how it is done!
Croffpuff & Hasn
The Danish Rap trio Croffpuff & Hasn knew how to put on a show combining fresh beats with cool rhymes that made the audience move. Their whole gig resembled a huge party including unprecedented things happening – like one of them getting tattooed live on stage as well as their special pyro show in the grand finale. All in all, a creative and innovative performance that will definitely stay in people’s minds.
Stügg
The 5 members of the Heavy Metal band Stügg delivered a fantastic show combining melodic, energetic riffs with strong vocals, creating a sound that made the audience go wild. Their songs were well-arranged including great guitar solos and clever break-downs showing that they had really put their minds to creating their music. Great song-writing, professional performance and fantastic energy – keep on rocking!
IOP
It was the last show of the day and the most crowded the stage had been all night long. The Rap / Trap crew IOP brought along 10 people to turn their live show into a huge party. Live drums, some catchy, electronic beats and wicked rhymes made people dance along to the music. The fun they all had on stage was clearly visible and you could feel their positive energy filling up the room.
