    Have you ever wondered what happened to Thrash Metal? Some say it never truly existed because any band that pioneered the defining aspects of the genre had too much conflicting material on the records which it is said to have appeared. Other people may tell you that it died very shortly after it's appearance in the 80s, culminating with a dispersion into thousands of metal sub-genres by 1992. You can choose any story you like, but everyone agrees, Demental are the re-birth of thrash metal in this bleak, modern world.
    Formed in February 2009, under the riff-laden gaze of Ricardo St Hilaire, a new band came into being to wreak necessary havoc on the definition of 'manning up'. Having already played together for a college gig in December 2008, Ricardo asked James Cartwright to join initially as a singer, but since bassists are a rare breed, he ended up taking on four string duties as well. As we all know, there are four horseman of the apocalypse, not two, so Dave Tobin was recruited on rhythm guitar and, similarly, Paul Brown joined on drums.

    To this day, Demental have been writing, rehearsing and recording to prepare themselves for what is sure to be a tempestuous future. With completely original material, mind bending lyrics and a sound that causes nosebleeds, the only way is to go up. So if you have a gig slot you want filling, we'll take it. If you need a band to record, we'll do it. Determination is in no short supply.
