DIE FISCHER This 11 piece came all the way from Hamburg to start the last day of our international final and kicked off with a blinding set. It is not often you see this many musicians on stage that are as tight. Lots of horns and a good rocking band as backing. The singer had energy to sell…………he also doubled on trombone too! Musically they were ranging between Polka-rock and were throwing some fun polka in there as well. Visually and technically perfect with great tunes…………a great way to start the day. PXR Rock Budapest style with electronics chucked in there to fill the right “gaps”. A competent singer muving like a mad man and an outstanding guitar player made this a great surprise considering this is the first time we have a band from Hungary. Rock, Funk, Pop this band had it all and knew how to play it….Brilliant! THE RAN Driven pop rock with interesting vocals sometimes reminiscent of The Cure. A strong backbone with a straight bass and drum, putting 4 on the floor in there to give us enough dance element to make us tap our feet. Overall a strong performance executed tightly. It would take more than this to impress the audience who did not move to their sounds……..shame, we thoroughly enjoyed this band and we were all tapping our feet………a drunk taubertal? Maybe but we loved them so stick this where it hurts……….
