What unites everybody who found their way to the Taubertaul Open Air festival 2003 is the love of music. For some it’s love at first sight, for some it’s platonic love, for others it’s true passion, many are even dependent on it, especially on live music. Everyone who loves the feeling of standing in front of a stage, of being up to date on what’s going on and what’s to come, is in the right place here, at Taubertal. We collected some thoughts from the people who count at this event. That’s everybody. What do the audience think during these three boiling days with an equally boiling atmosphere? “It’s hot“, that was definitely the top answer from all these roasting people, who sat or lay on the hills, always chasing the shade. How tough they were...despite the high temperatures, they were all busy getting the beer in all the time....in conclusion: German can definitely take their stuff! „You get to know a lot of new people and with a few beers it’s even getting easier for me to just start talking to anybody. Everybody feels the same way, I think. You just chat about the atmosphere and the festival.“ „The terrain is certainly one of the special things about this event, the surrounding for this is unique and beautiful. Hey, you should go and have a look to the camping site....the party there is as cool as down here, you have to see it.“ The later the hour the more beer crosses the bar, in front and behind the stage....the tongues flap more and new contacts are made. Something very special contributes to the atmosphere at the backstage area of the Emergenza stage. „There’s a very relaxed and beautiful spirit in here. There’re so many people, who you see just once a year and some new people as well. It’s doesn’t matter at all, you just talk to everybody. I think they’re all enjoying it a lot. There’s always a language to communicate with a person, let it be German, French, Italian, Spanish or English. It’s interesting and inspiring to have all these people at one place.” And how does everybody work together? „Well, it can be stressful during the day, of course, hey...we’re not here for the fun...haha. You run around,type or translate articles, organise.....but the harder you party throught the night.” One thing is certain, non-stop everybody fears and feels with the bands, supports them, waits with them and makes sure eveything is fine for them. „From what I can see, the atmosphere between the bands is very good and relaxed as well. They party together. They also watch each others perfomances. Of course they get pissed together and then they stagger home together.” Outside this Emergenza universe, no one really gets to know whats going on behind the stage, they don’t feel the tension or the excitement. They just party, mosh, dive , jump and sing along. „Live is just another thing than just listening to the records, you actually get to see what’s going on on stage. Sometimes it’s just one big party up there and you get a totally different opinion of the bands. That’s basically why I’m here.“ „The festival is great, because it’s not as big as many other German festivals. I think that’s an important point, and the fact that’s it is not as commercial as the same ones.” Partly, the audience doesn’t know all the facts about Emergenza. The most important things come accross to everybody: the excitement and the very special performances, which all the Emergenza bands put on stage. So whatever the audience know, they are interested and they show it while having fun with the music! Here are a few final quotes: „I think it’s great, there’re no breaks, it’s all very smooth.
