The 101''s won the Tilburg final last week. They’re going to hit the Taubertal stage next August. The Benelux winner band – at the 5th of August they’ll be 17 bands, keep posted here – answered to some questions. Let’s take a look to my interesting conversation with The 101’s. How did you get to play together? Tell me about the birth of The 101’s "The 101''s started as a band called Band Zonder Talent (Band Without Talent). That’s about 2 years ago. We already did lots of nice gigs and played with a lot of bands". How would you describe the music of The 101’s – which is your feature in the rock universe? "Punk ''n'' Roll it''s a style between Motörhead en The Ramones. Our feature is hopefully playing gigs forever and have fun doing it!". How and why you decided to take part in Emergenza International Festival? "We did it because this could be a chance for us to make it in the music world". Did you expect to win the national final? And when did you realize it was getting possible? "No, we didn''t expect it. But it was fuckin’ great. After we heard we won, we went crazy!". What the Emergenza experience means for you, and do you think Emergenza changed something in your local music scene? "Our experience is good, we had a few super shows and spreaded our name in The Netherlands". Just a place, a month and a number: Taubertal Open-Air festival, next August, 30,000 people. How do you feel about the Grand Final? "Thinking of it makes us feel great: we can wait for It!". Are you going to prepare something special for your Rothenburg performance? "For us to know and for you all a question". Any special comment/thank you about the Festival? "Thank you very much for making this possible!". More plans for the future and for your music? "Doing gigs and have lots of fun".
