À LA UNE
From clubs and colleges, to amphitheaters and music festivals, LUZER has performed for hundreds of thousands of people across the country since it formed in the final days of the last millenium. Whether it be upstaging the headliners or headlining themselves, LUZER is on a journey to bring their unique brand of power-pop rock n' roll to the masses. In the words of LUZER's singer/songwriter Tim Mahoney, "We are just four guys who love rock n' roll." But LUZER's not just that. They are four extremely talented young musicians who are standing tall on the horizon of the new millennium's "Rock N' Roll Renaissance".
With a sound reminiscent of a more melodic time, LUZER has been compared to everyone from ELO, The Cars, to their biggest influence, The Beatles. As Patrick O'Shea, the arts and entertainment editor of The Times Of New Jersey, put it, "Despite, or maybe because of all the different musical ingrediants, their flavor is very much their own."
Formed in the final days of the last millennium, LUZER, compromised of high school classmates Tim Mahoney, Dan Seeth, Sally, and Chris Volk, have sold more than 2,000 albums, performed in 16 states, and balanced the hard job of receiving airplay on both rock and pop radio stations in Philly, New Jersey, and Baltimore...all before the band could legally taste alcohol.
LUZER released their follow up full-length album to 2000's Greatest Hits on June 12, 2004. Available on their own label, Dubly Records, Reset plays like a trip through the last forty years of rock n' roll, while still managing to sound fresh and cutting edge.
Ken Zipeto, Music Director of 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia's #1 rock station, called it, "The best stuff I've heard in a long time! The songwriting is very catchy. I'm glad there are still real musicians out there."
Joe Proke, Music Director of 95.7 WMWX Philadelphia's #1 hits station, described Reset as "a unique collaboration of rock and alternative styles, all wrapped up and presented in a powerful driving force!"
The praise has come in from every review. LUZER has the rare ability to cross the boundries of music genres and just create well written hit music.
LUZER looks to the future with anticipation and confidence. When asked by the NJ/NYC rock paper The Aquarian what the band wants out of the music industry, bassist Chris Volk stated their philosophy best...
"...a lot of bands want cred and respect. F*ck that, we want to be rich famous rock stars...well, rich famous rock stars that write good music."
