    La band della bassa modenese nasce nel lontano 2000 sotto il nome di WeDid ma solo dopo 3 anni ed un cambio di elementi raggiunge l'attuale formazione (ufficializzata nell'estate 2003).Grazie ai 5 componenti del gruppo,tutti influenzati da diversi generi musicali, i Francis Petra suonano un indie-rock/cantautorale che fa riferimento a post rock, rock italiano d’autore, progressive, ai cantautori e al rock degli anni 60 e 70 in genere.
