The members of Down to One - featuring vocalist Kari Schneider, guitarist Jon Brenner, drummer Scott Schneider, and bassist Neal Dallmer - turn defiance and passionate conviction into massive walls of sound, constructed by pounding ryhthms, heavy guitars and powerful melodies. Captured in many of their songs are the challenges that people face every day, from being pressured and beat down, to fighting to overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable. What sets Down to One apart is the positive perspective that they lend to those problems.

"Our music directly reflects issues that we've dealt with in our own personal lives," says Kari. "If we can have a positive impact on others through our own struggles, then we have succeeded in what we've set out to do."

The passion and pain is evident in the song "Echoes", a battle cry against those that take advantage of and abuse others in the name of religion and status, and the emotionally charged "Don’t Fade Away" that tackles the topic of abuse, faith and inner strength.

Down to One formed in early 2004 with four musicians that just happened to catch lightning in a bottle with a contrasting sound of hauntingly melodic and beautiful vocals over heavy guitar crunch and stomping beats. "From the beginning, we wanted to do something different from what people are used to hearing", says drummer Scott Schneider. "Each one of us brings something different to the table, and oddly enough, we don't compromise musically with each other very much. Our individual styles shine through to create something really special".
