    À LA UNE
SHELLCASE was born November 2004 in the sleepy little village of Voorde(South-East-Flanders)
A brand new band? Not quite: guitarist Steve Van De Wiele and bass player Sven De Corte still wear the scars from a rough metal history with ‘Manic Movement’, surviving 2 European tours after their succesful debut ’Thousand Sufferings’.
After a self-entitled debut album with ‘Runaway’, singer/guitarist Dave Varlet wandered a few years through different coverbands playing pop, rock, country, soul & funk classics. This musical diversity can also be heard in his solo work as singer-songwriter.
The only newcomer in this bunch is drummer David Van De Wiele, whose dream it was to walk in the footsteps of his cousin Steve.
SHELLCASE consists of four very different personalities with one thing that ties them together: to write and perform good songs!
“A good song is the key to make this band function, style doesn’t matter as long as the song is good”.
Lately the band ‘s been busy rehearsing their asses off and writing original material, that does’nt remind of any comparable band. The band's motto is "Try every idea with an open mind", therefore every member of the band contributes with own ideas to make this music unique.
Using sonic guitar hooks, pounding drums, full guitars and soulful lyrics, with the variety and ability to create good, pure rock songs, their music has been described as 'radio-ready-post-grunge-melodic-hard-rock' or whatever you want to label it.
Meanwhile a first demo has been recorded and a full cd is planned by the end of 2005.
They are well-determined to make a go of it! SHELLCASE is a welcoming change from the disposable music of today
