Domenic Bevacqua:
Dom is a direct descendant of the man who put the mole on George Washington's head on Mount Rushmore. From the time he was only a year old, Dom delighted in smashing objects together to make the loudest sounds possible. Sometimes he even plays the drums using other drums as drumsticks. Partly as a result of this, he was expelled from both his home and school at the young age of 26. Dom wandered the countryside playing his drums for anyone who didn't throw cans at him before finally settling in Detroit where he worked for a drum manufacturer. It was there that Dom stole his first set of decent drums, eventually (after a brief career in the Peace Corps) moving back to Philly to search for a band that suited his musical leanings.
Hadi Joel West - Bass guitar, backup vocals:
Joel is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, where he misspent the majority of his youth hanging out at Circle K, playing in punk bands, and trying to talk to girls. In 1988, he had a mystical experience while shopping at a local grocery store and began studying meditation and Eastern religious paths. After dropping out of high school, he earned a GED and studied music at University of the Ozarks and the UM-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. While in Kansas City, Joel encountered his spiritual teacher, a jazz drummer/coffee merchant, and began studying the sacred sound and movement of the Sufis. He spent the next decade exploring music and sound as spiritual practice rather than performance. During this time, Joel earned a B.A. in Psychology and Religious Studies from Naropa University, a Buddhist college in Boulder, Colorado. Somewhere in the mix, he also managed to swindle his way into law school, and currently practices law in Philadelphia.
