La formation actuelle de Zi Of Malte date de mars 2004, avec Felix, un chanteur franco-américain, qui est venu compléter ce trio de musiciens jusqu'à présent aphone...
Zi Of Malte fait du rock, et jusqu'à preuve du contraire, c'est le style de musique qui est resté le plus subversif malgré son succès populaire et son âge (50 ans cette année, faut-il le rappeler?).
Le groupe jongle entre riffs accrocheurs et chansons plus calmes. Les textes sont en anglais, écrits et chantés (sans ce terrible accent qu'ont trop souvent les français) par Felix. Les mélodies, dont la base est généralement apportée par Paul, sont perfectionnées par Hadrien, Robin et Paul.
Le cocktail final donne des chansons d'inspiration 60's et 70's, avec majoritairement des influences du début du hard-rock et des influences blues-rock, limite rock alternatif...les étiquettes, y'a rien de plus stupide, voyez-y ce que vous voulez, après tout. C'est du rock, quoi.

Zi Of Malte plays rock, a style which (stop me if you disagree) has remained the most subversive style despite its popular success and age (is it necessary to remind you that rock n' roll is fifty years old this year?).
The band juggles between ear-catching riffs and smoother melodies. The lyrics are written and sung (without that terrible accent that the French, too often, have) by Felix. In most cases, the basis of the melodies are brought by Paul; then Hadrien, Robin and Paul work on them until they're satisfying.
The final cocktail results into 60's & 70's-inspired songs, majorly influenced by the beginnings of hard-rock, by blues-rock and alternative rock. Call it whatever the hell you want to call it: wanting to give a label to everything is stupid; we play rock, period.
And come and see us in concert: we really kick 'em out when we're on stage!
