    ALTERCATION started in July 2006 when two of the first original members met via a website called musofinder. Described as soft rock, dark-pop, or just a bit of something here and there the band hasn't been looking for a category, doing every songs simply in a jam. After a few meetings and some cover work of Radiohead and The Cure they started to work for their personnal songs. It's really in October 2006 that everything started with Shallow and Souless City quickly followed by a demo. Recorded in february 2006 at the New Cross studio "The Vampires" ( now called Music City ) the first demo gives them a stability and gigs around at The Bull and Gate and The Archway Tavern to name a few. The band improved their sense of the stage time after time and they now feel ready for a second recording which gonna bring a different sound with other versions of the old songs and three new ones as well. They plan to record the demo during the begining of the year opening their creativity for other inspirations. With the arrival of the new drummer, another page's turned and here is the idea to come for the first album which would tell the story inspired by the own book's singer "opened eyes" of a young shallow girl who lives in a souless city. Her life is full of black moments and disillusions but one day the crash of her life hit her. She falls into a coma and she learns to let go. Into her coma she will meet people who obviously don't exist, she will be born again and invent her life again. Through the song bad man who tells about her ancient memory she's trying to forget, she's trying to keep her eyes opened in a transparent vision which is the artificial sleep, her coma. She doesn't know who she used to be and she doesn't care, she's just someone else, herself. The first part of this concept has been created with the first songs, now working on the second part of the dream theme more new songs are to come. The third part of the concept will talk about the awakening, when she sees the truth. The album will show a total of 12 or 14 songs.
