Drowning In You began as a nameless Alternative Rock project in mid 2014, when lead singer Michael Gerhard set up a group of musicians to create fresh and inspiring music. A first 3-song demo tape was recorded at the end of the year after which the band named themselves after one of the songs included on the tape – Drowning In You. Because of various replacements in the band, band founders Michael Gerhard (Vocals) and Sebastian Hofmann (Drums) had to look out for a new guitarist when Gerhard remembered Ralf Welther (Lead Guitar), with whom he already had had several music projects, and convinced him to join the band. With Tobias Knorz (Backing Vocals, Rhythm Guitar) and Michael Wehner (Bass), the line-up was finally finished. As a result of the new band members, the band’s sound became more and more diverse, bringing in both elements from Post-Hardcore as well as Metalcore… Fast, melodic guitar riffs and the interplay of clean vocals and screamo as well as the open-mindedness towards new musical influences make their songs recognizable. The band’s first EP, Worth Fighting For (produced at SonicStorm Studios), was released on 25.11.2015.
