FINAL IN GOTHENBURG!
The first step is done, and we have a winner already. But I should say the winner is the music once again, as all the ten bands who took part to the Gothenburg final gave all the best that they could, with the result of a great music night and a perfect atmosphere. We can also say it has been the night of the young promises, as the first two bands voted by the jury (Granvista, the winning band and Freetown Funkariffics) were the youngest ones playing in the final, both led by two special voices ( Tobias from Granvista and Karl from Freetown Funkariffics). And if we think they are just 18 and 17 years old, we can bet a bright future is waiting for them. What´s more, Granvista brought home the prize for the best guitar player (Johan): one more reason to be satisfied with their really appreciated rock performance. It has been rock, funk, pop and metal: different kind of music for different energies. And if we talk about energy, we have to talk about Muloka: just three people hitting the stage with the power of ten! No need to be trash metal fans to be captured by their powerful performance. But what the other bands liked most was a kind of intimate and elegant Swedish pop-rock: the one from Olivia, awarded with the "band award 2004" decided by the other groups taking part to the competition. And as the prizes seemed to go on pairs, Victor, Olivia''s musician, has been awarded wiht an OLP bass as the best bass player of the night. Together with them, Pink lips, at their best during this last performance, and Rewind, probably the most enjoyable moment for the public, were the ones who got to be between the five top bands chosen by the public. Out of them were Deadbeat Moses, unfortunately a little bit out of target with their mature 70s rock for such a young public. The first year in Gothenburg got to the end, and when from the end comes out such an interesting winner as Granvista, lot of good music and great feelings for the musicians, it means it has been a great success. And it''s just the beginning!
