All the people of Emergenza Festival want to express their solidarity to the Spanish people and the relatives of the victims of the March 11th terrorist attack in Madrid, and state strongly that no political nor religoius ideology can justify any loss of life. The Friday night after the attack was the last eliminatory night in Barcelona: we would put off the concert, but we could not, for organizational reasons. At the beginning and in the middle of the gig we stopped for a minute in silence to join everybody’s grief. It was a very touching moment: a symbolic silence that certainly could not relieve the families’ sorrow, or the sense of powerlessness at such a horrible and unbelievable brutality. The concert went on, but everybody was sad, and nobody was in the mood of celebrating. More than 200 people died and almost 1500 were hurt: they are not only victims of terrorism, they are victims of a world in which values that push to kill, enslave, humiliate and violate other people have ruled for ages. When all this will be over? When will we make up our mind?
