After your next knockout performance we will take you to the Big Smoke, to play London’s one and only, prestigious London Astoria, taking your band from a local to national level…well…it’s your London, innit? Opal Sky, 2003 Scottish winner’s, played the gig of their lives at the Astoria and one of our judges, Sony Entertainment Group, made a special request for their demo! So, our music industry judges loved your performance and we will reward you with an all expenses paid trip to Taubertal Festival, Germany! Fancy some free beer, anyone? This is the biggie! On average 50,000 revellers attend this festival. You will play on stage directly opposite, the main acts, yes I did say directly opposite, unlike most festivals where you’re staged 2 miles west of the action. You will have the opportunity to mingle with your heroes and perhaps clinch your own deal. In 2002, “ZEN”, through performing at the Emergenza’s “Taubertal” festival meet the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and were invited to support them on their Italian tour! Our music industry representatives from several International Record Labels, including Columbia Records (Ger) and Sony Entertainment Group will be there, waiting to sign their next big act. Columbia whipped up the band ‘Sincere’ in 2002, Island Records the band “Beach”, Undertow Records the band “Zen” and the list goes on. Top name musicians and music professionals from many areas of the industry will be in attendance to advise you and perhaps declare you overall winner of the Emergenza Festival. For those who do not win, you may receive a shiny new guitar or bass or cymbals or even a spanking new drum kit! Our sponsors also give away amplifiers, microphones, wireless systems and free beer all weekend! Oh…I had mentioned the beer already, hadn’t I? Crackin’ Southampton band, Toupe, whilst not making the top five, still managed to walk away with a shit-load of prizes. 2 new bass guitars, set of new cymbals, brand new amplifier and a complete live wireless system! To top it off, they got signed when they returned to British waters. Not bad for a band that didn’t even make the top five, eh? As for the big cheese, top dog, juiciest peach, head honcho, ripe plum picker…ahem…the winner of Emergenza 2004, an all expenses paid tour of the United States, courtesy of Ernie Ball is next on the agenda!
