The 28th of May 2003 Luxemburg celebrated the finale of its 3rd Emergenza edition. The Kulturfabrik was with around 1000 visitors almost sold-out. Ten bands were hot to play and to make a real great party! Compliments also for our special guest “The Fact” from Paris, they rocked the house, and they will come back to Luxemburg, that’s for sure! Luxemburg had this year a real young finale. Age average of the participating musicians was around 18 years. Band existing average was around 18 month! Also this time, we had a brilliant party-atmosphere in the venue, behind the stage and of course on stage. There was no filling of competition. It was a real final!!! Our jury, composed of four music-experts from Germany and our jury president from Luxemburg, made a great job, to distribute the different awards. This finale was publicity for upcoming bands, for Emergenza and the national music-scene. The winner of Emergenza 2003 is: I N B O R N Style: Metal-Grunge Lineup: Ben Thommes (guitar), Max Thommes (drums), Cedric Keyser (vocals, guitar), Jeff Braun (bass) Claude Meisch(Didgeridoo) They made it to the European Final with their kickin’, fresh, powerful attitude! Other awards have been given to: Media Award by Tageblatt (Daily newspaper): media support + show at the Alive Festival in ST.Vith (B) Winner: Chief Mart's (Psychedelic instrumental space-Rock) Backline! Award: 400€ Cash + show at the Rock Um Knuedler (big open air in Luxemburg: This award goes to the semifinalists: D-Fact (Hardcore) Best Bassist: wins an OLP Bass by Musicman Ernie Ball Winner: Yves Melchior from the Mighty Pussy Lickers (fun-Punk-Rock…) Best Guitarist: wins a digital crate guitar amp Winner: Jan Hennico from Short[k]ut (Crossover) Best Drummer: wins a set cymbals from Sabian Winner: Jose moreira from Short[k]ut (crossover) 2nd place was for the band MYEIN who won the E-lake Award (a show the 8.08 at the Open Air Party in Echternach/Luxemburg) INBORN are hot for the European Final and they will rock the Taubertal!
