UK band on the starting line

The Emergenza promotional drive to recruit bands has begun in Ernest in the UK. After the success of last year's event the 2002/03 promises to bigger and better.

Bigger and better through the widening of the cities in which the event will take place and securing collaborations with a variety of music and media related companies. The inclusion of Scotland and Wales are 2 regions that we are happy to welcome especially in recognition that for the past few years the most successful live bands have come from these regions. So we are collectively enthusiastic and excited about the prospect of meeting and more importantly listening to the bands from these regions The collaboration with Sound control, the UK no.1 music retailer has further given the event imputes. With press releases about the event in their famously acclaimed monthly magazine "SoundControl" which you can pick-up from one of their 14 stores. In line with the UK's drive to make sure that participating bands be given the opportunity to be noticed by all the main players in this difficult industry, We have secured the involvement of the BBC at local level who will display and review on their website the event and the best bands. The first edition of this you will be able to see at www.BBC/Southampton.co.uk and will follow on with reviews in Scotland. Emergenza is in discussion to commit the Music production unit to filming of the regional finals. We shall keep you posted on any development. In the rest of the UK, adverts are now appearing in the leading music magazines such as the Kerrang, NME and The LOOT. Also more emphasis as been placed on advertising at a local level with press releases in South Scene, The Juice, Gig guides etc. and adverts on local radio. Most venues for the various stages have now been confirmed and once again this aspect of the event will make sure that the path traveled by the bands will be through the best stages - to name a few- Birmingham Academy, London Astoria, The Hibernian, The Brook, Leeds University. Those of you who recognize these venues in your city will also be able to recognize, without us telling you- the famous bands who have graced those stages. A full listing of these will be published on our website shortly. We would like, at this point, from all the members of the Emergenza UK staff to thank the diverse companies who have given their support to the event.
