You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2014/2015. What made you decide to take part in it?
This band only exists since March 2015, we played two gigs in 2014 under the same name but all the musicians were paid for the job. The gigs went well and we started having some followers. Emergenza Bandcontest was a great way to create a fan base and to see if we are able to mobilize them.
As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
We want to dream with our head up in the air but keeping our feet on the ground, cause we want to move forward.
What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
Obviously the final, as half of the crowd was jumping up and down and many were singing along our songs.
What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
Samuele & Mattia grew up in Rome (I) and have that Roman temperament running through their veins. Plus it’s just an awesome name
If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
I’ve got only stupid songs coming to my mind…
If your band had another name, what would it be?
The Wild Hearts
Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage?
We are too serious….and we’ve only played 4 shows together.
What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
Joyful, honest energy and a positive feeling while walking away drenched in dancing sweat, whistling to our songs that are stuck in your head.
Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
We gather together and remind each other why we do music and what is our goal.
What is your dream gig?
In a full stadium and the crowd singing along. The singing crowd more than anything else, cause we don’t enjoy silent audiences. That’s why we don’t do classical music, or jazz haha (Brian studies jazz, please make fun of him).
Do you guys have any hobbies? What do you do when you don’t play?
We do what romans do…we play football. Dave has a recording studio (kalifornirecords.com) and plays frisbee-golf; Juerg fixes his broken BMW; Flo smokes pipe and drinks whiskey; Brian studies.
If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
Bono, he is such a charismatic person that thrives to make a difference. Plus he’s a great songwriter and I’m sure he’s a lot of fun when drunk.
What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
Play couple of gigs in Switzerland and focus on the next EP that is planned for spring 2016.
What question did I forget? Can you suggest a question you would want me to ask?
Dinner at 19:00?
Why do you think you deserve to win the 2015 Festival edition?
Because we’ll make it so hard for you not to like us. Try not to dance with a smile on your face during the whole concert.
I bet you can’t. As a band we are ready for the big step and believe that we could well manage the consequences of such a win.
