Stop the press!! We've just heard about the heaviest of endorsements and we must tell tell you all about it. Now, we all know about Billboard Magazine. If you don't here's a bit of info: Billboard is the Music Business bible. THE authority in the world of music business. It's Billboard that have practically invented the music charts. Rock charts, country charts, pop charts, hip hop etc etc etc. It's where everything starts. It's the magazine that every single music business professional looks at when he/she wants to know the latest news. It's through this very magazine that we found out that Émergenza 2012's international winners are mentioned as the one of the top bands for 2013. The ones to look out for.
Every year, Billboard magazine follows
hundreds of thousands of bands around the world and then does a chart
of the top 15 bands.
The newest published chart sees HURRICANE
LOVE, Emergenza Swedish winners in the 15 bands 'most likely to
succeed'. The 4 guys and 2 girls from tiny southern town of Malmoe
have a huge responsibility now. This is a heavy endorsement but the 6
piece pop outfit are not phased by this attention. They have been
working hard at it for a couple of years now.
They've been writing and performing
together for nearly 2 years and have been touring up and down their
country, sleeping in their cars and surviving with the sales of their
demo CD. Now, after winning the Emergenza international
festival and playing in front of thousands of new fans on the big
stage at the Taubertal Festival in Germany, the band has began to
tour outside their home country. Last In February they went to London
and played a headline gig at legendary 100 club and were interviewed
by hip music blog Soundsfeed.
This is jut a taste of things to come as the band prepares for their sprimg-summer tour of Europe organized by the Emergenza special events department. Things are looking up for Hurricane Love but good work ethics, 1 million youtube views and a lot of clever promotional strategies are the key elements to get Billboards attention. We wish our Swedish friends the best of luck as we continue to push them to succeed. What's next? A record deal? Considering the publishers are already knocking at their door it's highly probable. Stay tuned and we'll let you know!
