Prince, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Depeche Mode...

What do these people have in common? Well for starters they all are megastars and they don't play anywhere. They choose where to play because they are fussy about sound and lights.

The O2 arena in London is the world's most famous live indoor venue. Everybody knows this. Even people in Australia and in the U.S.A. know this. Hundreds of millions of pounds were spent to make this the best sounding experience any human being can have in an indoor concert. Some reports say 700 million pounds were spent. This is the place where our very own Saint Petersburg's Emergenza winner played. In fact, she's played in many cool venues. How about the formula 1 party at Silverstone? That's cool isn't it? Not everybody gets invited to the F1 circuit to sing. She did.

Well, it all started a couple of years ago when Shokolady (Real name Alla) took part in the very first season of the Emergenza festival in Russia. Stepping on stage with her own pop/rock/dance band we could tell she had talent. Real talent. You know the sort of talent that just hit you in the face when you see it?? well, that was it. We were impressed. It started when our colleague Andrey called us up and told us about her band. The real surprise was that this very determined lady got to the regional final, won and went to the national final where she just lost with a minimum margin. Second......how upsetting! Wait, she was not to stay home and mope about it. She rolled up her sleeves and went back to work. She then asked if she could play guest slots at the Émergenza gigs throughout Europe. We duly obliged.

We sent her everywhere from London to Madrid. It was in London that she was spotted at Dingwalls.....the rest as they say, is history. She has now been signed to a label specialized in dance-pop tunes and she gets combined hits on youtube in the millions She just released a single that hit top 20 in the German dance charts!!!.....and that is after only 2 weeks of release! Well, the previous single (about a year ago) did make it in the top 40 uk dance charts above people like Black eyed Peas and Nicole Scherzinger but this one is about to go through the roof we think. Now, that's a real score. It shows that determination takes you anywhere you like.....and a good dose of talent is needed of course. She has lots.

So we say congratulations to Shockolady. We are very proud to see you do well! You are the hardest working singer we've met and the most level headed person in the live music scene today!.....I almost forgot, thank you for giving us your tunes for the Emergenza Compilation. It was a real honour to share you with all the other talent we found. We can now say to bands that if you work hard you get somewhere.
