For 3 days every year, the decision makers in the shape of, music publishers, producers, agents, managers, promoters and overall chequebook owners, go to Hamburg for a mixture of panel discussions, amazing showcases and to talk about the state of the music business (while getting drunk on free booze of course).
This was the case on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of September in Hamburg. Set in the world famous Reeper Bahn, where rock & roll was practically born in Europe, this world famous music business festival was actually a mad 72 hours of music, chit-chat and socializing (yes, in that order).
A 2 man team delegation went to check out what we could do to help Emergenza bands. While one team member from Emergenza, your favourite music festival for emerging artists, was busy attending panels and talking to the experts, the other, was networking and meeting labels and promoters to plug the best bands to come out of our festivals.
During the 3 days, we were also happy to see some of our Emergenza musicians and bands showcasing there and some, who like in the case of Royal Republic, were there to rock 2000 people since they are the most popular Swedish rock band in Germany in 2012 (statistics given to us directly by Warner Brothers music Germany).
We've seen many good acts, spoke to many music business people and put up with them until 4am.....and this was all for you!! Yes, you bands out there. The bands that want a kick start. The bands who know have the talent and want to start with us. The bands who work hard and get somewhere. Somewhere like the Reeperbahn Festival. So now it's bye for now from the best 2 reporters in town......wait till you see the blog!
