We start with a bang! The first band that starts the Emergenza International Festival is one of the most visually appealing bunch of guys we’ve seen in years. This fluorescent pink group blends ska, rap with funky rhythms and heavy brass sounds. A tight set that got everybody dancing under the rain. Throw some dance moves and some reggae tones and you have the perfect formula to start this exciting week-end of international music….Yeah man!
C.A.N.
The job of going second is given to the band from Paris. A stripped down 3-piece with a strong vocalist playing a beautifully sounding acoustic guitar graced the stage with confidence. Great tunes with radio friendly melodies that had everybody under the rain paying attention. Alternating traditional sets with electric bass and drums and switching to all acoustic percussion and guitars made this band really stand out. A good set of songs executed with passion and a smile on their faces....Merci boys.....Fantastique!
STARDUST
From beautiful Florence an equally beautiful sounding band. What is it about Italians? why do they always come out with beautiful melodies? A simple demonstration that with good songs you have an immediate good response from the public. Songs reminiscent of Stereophonics with a bit of Radiohead chucked in there as well, were displayed with fine precision and the right amount of charisma. A three piece to remember for the future...BRAVO Florence.
ENVY ASSURED
OK, let's rock! hailing from England, the country that gave us punk and metal comes this heavy four piece. Distorted guitars and screaming vocals was the order of the day for these young London lads. Super-tight musicians capable of splitting tempos and moods while getting the front row to headbang.......Up the brits!
From rainy london to rainy Taubertal......Let's rock indeed.
MODERN ERROR
2 days on a plane from Australia. Tired, hungry and ready to give Germany a piece of sunny OZ. A confident lead singer fronts this five piece with the right ideas as far as song-writing techniques is concerned. Displaying a mix of short cleverly arranged sweet tunes, these guys put heart and soul in their performance..considering the long trip here......but then again we all know Australians are always up for showing us good time.....Cheers guys.
BARTON FINK
We knew a technical hitch was never gonna stop a band from Canada. As soon as they sorted the keyboards, Barton Fink went through a set of energetic synth rock songs. So far, this eclectic band has proved that being slightly original is a plus in anyone's books. Solid drumming was provided as a foundation to lay intricate synth patterns topped up with amazing vocals....Matt Bellamy who??? yes people, he really is that good. Reaching far beyond the sky, this guy can give all of us a few singing lessons but we know we could never top him. They look and sound like a seasoned bunch ready for the pickings.....any takers out there? Record companies should have a sure bet on these boys..... Follow this 4 piece from Montreal, they are worth it...mercy Quebec!
MANOLO PANIC
the first female musician on stage today was part of the swiss quintet that has closed the curtains on on this incredible first day of music. Danceable rock tunes with current keyboard sounds all topped up with a stage show to be proud of. Masks, bullhorns, green head-bands and choreographed dance moves is what we like. The crowd joined in the dancing and the balloon punching. It was a wonderful party atmosphere. This was a truly enjoyable way to say goodnight! Thanks for making us dance Zurich.
