LONDON Live! The first 3 days of thunder.
The Bull and Gate is still the place in Kentish Town
Another Emergenza season has started and the reports from our women on the spot is positive…..Can we have another Gloria Cycles? Can we have another Winter Kicks? What about Imma? What about the many bands that proved Britain has the best bands playing in clubs and venues like the B&G? Quality, quality, quality. 3 days of incredible music. I called Claudia and Sabrina for a telephone interview and they were almost speechless (as well as very hung over) when asked how good were the bands the last 3 nights. “we see a lot of bands around the world and we still find it impressive to see such quality” was Sabrina’s comment. “I’ve been doing Emergenza for 3 years and seen 400 bands and never get sick of them” replied Claudia. Proof that the competition in London is fierce. We all knew that there are hundreds of bands on the London area trying to “surface”. We see that. “We understand that bands need to promote themselves harder if they want to shine” says James, front-man from former Emergenza band Transkei. “The more hard work you put in your project, the more rewards you get”. This was his simple reply to me when asked. After many years doing this I’m still amazed by the sheer drive of some of these guys. In essence: Could we have another band getting their song on the Samsung advert please? Could we get another band touring Europe?.....Listen up London bands and gig punters…….go see them now before they get bigger.
