Yes folks! I’m so excited for our kids (sorry, our winning band) that we all went down the pub and got smashed on the news alone...... Ok, let’s start from the beginning. 2008 UK season’s winners Gloria Cycles did not only go on to bigger and better things such as magazine covers, a UK tour, a European tour, Having their single played on BBC radio by Steve Lamacq, Signing a publishing deal & Playing the Taubertal Festival on the main stage (sharing with the likes of Hives and Editors) in front of thousands of eager Bavarians but they just scored the ultimate prize: A Song placement…yes! Television. The song, featured on the Emergenza / Track1 2008 international compilation, did not only get 20,000 people’s attention for being part of a free “promo tool” when it came out in June that year (go here to see the compilation on http://www.emergenza.net/1/compilation.asp?compilation=23) but was obviously so strong that Samsung, the multinational company decided to have it for their commercial. The Samsung Video advert is in current rotation in North America first (USA & Canada first) and will be broadcasted internationally around the world as of Christmas………..As many bands are “made” by a simple tune on commercials we know and are very confident that the amazing Gloria Cycles will conquer the world……watch out 2010!!
