City of Angels
The city of Los Angeles otherwise know as the “City of Angels” has traded in its halo for a pitch fork and is suited up with Genz Benz amps and a stomping sound system that breathes fire into the room! Despite its “Plastic” repertoire L.A has officially been hit with the all natural Emergenza rock bands that are ready to make some racket and clamor with an assortment of talent. The kick off was on Thursday with a mighty powerful line up starting with AM who played a set that told a story of their own with a female drummer that played standing up! Solacz performed a song titled “Last Nite In London” that stole the crowd, when A Decade Under’s shadows fell they shone. Next up was Peach whose cover of “I can’t stand the Rain” won them onto the quarter semi-finals, while VIE played on with some serious sick vocals that were unscathed.
Friday told a different story of its own with a killer line up of Rock. Cashmere graced the stage with two different MC’s and a female vocalist that brought a different sound with each song, and Chili Cheese Fries were any thing but a drive-thru snack attack. Amon Isis were a symphony of flames, and Royal Lush came out with a screaming Reggae mix. To end of this night was the band Chris Paul Overall that pushed the limits of Alternative Rock.
The final night of this first weekend of shows was Saturday and the noise didn’t stop there with Gold Leaf who performed a song “Rabbit Kings” and Holloway the Band who gave up on love. Frame came out with a splash of paint that was trapped inside their set, while Sluck had a set that proved they were no Cracker Jacks. The Faded were not alone when they performed their Glamour Rock set, and Out of Kontrol took the show deep inside the room. That concludes this first round of what looks like a very promising season in this city of dreams…..
