Formed in 2003 in the Paris area, the music of BAWDY FESTIVAL is distinctive of melodies from county fair side shows, a brutal sound and a stage perfomance nothing short of bloodcurdling. We perceive the influence of I.C.P., Cypress Hill, and Sepultura in this violent "CLOWN CORE”. The clowns, accompanied by their monstrous troupe, parade like a maddened horde: mutilated, chained monsters, mistreating fairy tale and storybook characters in a sinister, macabre waltz. The unwholesome, disturbing atmosphere of freak shows, and that of Tim Burton, strange, morbid, yet uncontrollably appealing, are in total osmosis in this sordid and decadent show.
