Juergen Klier - Germany. PRESIDENT of the Technical Juries Creative Art Director for Marketing & Events of Musik Meyer Products Juergen Klier was born in 1958 and grew up with music; his father was a professional musician and Juergen starter playing clarinet at the age of 8. He later switched to the saxophone. He started working at the age of 14 in a Music Store, where he learned how to play guitar, keyboards and drums. He opened and managed his own recording studio and has given guitar lessons for many years as part of the GDM organisation in Germany. In 1990 he started working for Musik Meyer, one of the biggest distributor of the music industry, as the Marketing & Sales Director for a new Guitar-Brand “Vester”. Later he managed his own division of Musik Meyer, “Around the Guitar” and became the Marketing Director for all of Musik Meyer’s Guitar Products. For the past 6 years he has been Creative Art Director for Marketing & Events of Musik Meyer Products. He is responsible for all the big events like Frankfurt Messe and Inhouse-Fair. He has also been the Product-Manager for Ernie Ball/Music Man and OLP for 7 years. During his work at Musik Meyer he was product manager for the following brands: Vester, Toneworks by Korg, VOX, Toneking, VHT, Takamine, Ovation, Marshall, ART, Parker, Music Man, Ernie Ball, OLP. Since 2002 he has worked exclusively for the Headoffice into Musik Meyer DistributionGroup. Julien Delpy - France. SECRETARY of Technical Juries France General Manager Artistic Cooperative Director for Emergenza Julien Delpy was the singer of Head Fuck in’, with which he wrote, co-produced and released an album in 2001. Based in France, he has worked with Emergenza Festival since 2000 as Western Europe’s and Canada’s Operative Manager, before becoming General Manager for France, Ireland and Benelux. He was also the manager for Willotree, Munshy, Nervous Nellie and Mr Brown in the US on the last four Vans Warped Tours. In 2002 he’s written an essay in sociology and economy about the sportive and musical hybrids. He’s an Artistic Cooperator with Track 1 since 2005 and managed the Band Lik...id signed on MVS records. DRUMS & BASS TECHNICAL JURY THE DRUMS & BASS TECHNICAL JURY will decide who are the best bass players, best drummers and the best Rhythm section. The members of the panel will give his/her evaluation of all the rhythm sections, bass players and drummers performing on the Emergenza stage. His musical education finally led him to a “Diplome Supérieur” with a “1er prix à l’unanimité” at the drum school “Dante-Agostini” in Düsseldorf, Germany. He has worked with groups from bigband to classical orchestra and is now playing with various bands that do mainly rock- and jazz-music - or both. Apart from that he is teaching his students how to find their own way to the drumset. The other side of his life belongs to written words and photography: After studies in German linguistics, literature and philosophy, he is currently working as a journalist. He writes for Germany’s “drums&percussion”-magazine.
