Sizzling Bands in Hotlanta Final
Atlanta closed out its Emergenza Season on a high note at one of Atlanta’s top venues, Center Stage. The final was amazing. The judges said, “The talent at this year’s Atlanta final blew last year’s out of the water.” With a diverse line-up and extreme talent this event is going to be hard to beat!
State of the Art opened up the evening with a lot of energy. Donned in SOTA shirts they wailed as the crowd chanted “SOTA, SOTA, SOTA!” They ripped through their hard rock set complete with excellent guitar rifts, a strong rhythm section and precise lyrical changes.
Stereozu, Atlanta’s only Latino-Rock band in the competition, surely know how to put on a fantastic and entertaining show. The lights lifted as the lead singer stealthily emerged. With costumes that included a gas mask, kneepads and make-up these guys played out the true spirit of rock. Their audience bubbled as they waved their flags and cheered on this enthusiastic and talented rock group.
Black Light District stirred up the audience with a rock’n’roll set that had heads spinning. For a three-piece band, the sound was full and honest. Their vocals were pure and they stunned with a tight quality set.
Greyscale Music, of Tampa, FL, stormed the stage with a tight hip-hop-rock ensemble. Lead vocalists, Tenia and Walter, wove in between one another as the band performed a unique and intriguing background to tight hip-hop lyrics. They had one of the best stage presences of the whole evening.
ElevenStandingStill revved up the audience with their tight vocals, on point guitar licks and serious rhythm. They thumped and rocked through their twenty-minute set and had the audience reacting in a truly spirited way. Their lyrics were incredible and it is no wonder these guys are the officially sponsored band of NOPI.
Beyond Tomorrow, of Athens, GA, changed the mood a bit with a modern and intricate set. They had all aspects of performance covered. Their lead vocals were on, their lyrics great and their stage presence pumped everyone up to a new level. They will surely go far beyond the realms of tomorrow if they keep at what they are doing.
The Roman Empire represented Nashville in the Atlanta competition. Their lyrics were excellent, and lead vocalist Aaron had the most pure and real voice of the evening. He belted it out as John ripped it up on the guitar. They once again won the hearts of Atlanta’s panel of judges and will be the representative of the Southeast this weekend at the Emergenza National Final in Dallas.
Unknown Soul never ceases to impress. These guys have worked in a new vocalist since the beginning of the Emergenza season, which has worked magic for them. He interacted with the audience in a truly sentimental way as he belted out their excellent lyrics over a tight band. The drummer is on point and reacts excellently to the bassist. The lead guitarist pulled out solos at the exact right time. They impressed with excellent arrangements and an all-around tight group.
Amber Brooke Band took the stage and defined great presence as they jumped around and seemed to really be having a great time. Amber won the prize for best vocalist of the evening, and she truly deserved it. The audience raged as Amber Brooke’s band took second place at the Atlanta final. With strong lead vocals, hard-core guitar rippin’ and an excellent rhythm section Amber Brooke Band is one to keep you eyes peeled for.
Cameo Nova took the stage and put on an excellent performance that landed them in the top half of the Atlanta bands. They slid around and tightly worked a strong yet eloquent set. Their lead vocalist wooed the audience as they switched instruments and utilized some fantastic keys to make their set truly different.
Calling All Stars were also very tight. They ruled their audience as they were on point as far as instrumentation, technical skill and songwriting abilities. Their lead vocalist jetted out his lyrics as the ba
