Birmingham has finished!
The last set of shows in Birmingham took place at Zydeco. The finals were steaming with energy as the top 12 bands from Birmingham, AL took the stage.
Knova Jones was an extremely talented group with high energy, great vocals and a drum solo that was hard to top. Leaving Shiloh captured the audience with sweet harmonizations and an ability to capture the audience with their stage presence. Prove Them Wrong stepped up and performed a very solid set that had everyone on their toes. Stuck Insider once again charmed the audience with well-thought out lyrics, great harmonies and a solid drummer. Threefall was an excellent addition to the line-up as they played more pop style southern rock. Auction 45, the finalist that will be moving on to play in Columbia, S.C. later this season wooed all with strong lead vocals, a solid rhythm section and a guitarist that could be compared to the likes of Jimi Hendrix...no bull. Crowe was also one of the judges favorites as they played a unique set complete with acoustic guitar, excellent bass rifts and solid vocalizations. Into Never stormed the stage with a bit harder rock that included an awesome drum introduction and crowd favorites such as "Yesterday" and "Move". The Ouchies! always put on a good show. They pumped up the energy as they jumped around, had the crowd singing along, and did an impressive stage dive/crowd surf. Tritennial was also just as entertaining, with excellent drums, bass and guitar solos that were off the hook! Esker, also a crowd favorite, had everyone bumping as they performed a very tight set. The Homos closed out Birmingham''s final with a performance that will ring through the halls of Zydeco for many years to come. One of the only bands with a female artist, these guys are not only talented players, but great performers as well.
The season in Birmingham was amazing. The bands were not only very talented which made for a great competition, but they were pleasant and cheerful holding strong to the southern traditions that Birmingham is famous for.
