Vancouver's Final
Vancouver had its Final on June 1st, which was a concert not to be missed as the fans of all the bands flooded through the doors of The Plaza. The club was packed with shoulder to shoulder screaming fans as each band took the stage! The winning band for Vancouver''s final was The Sessions who rocked the venue with an off the hook set that definitely raised some heads!! In 2nd position was the band Quartered whose metal performance stirred up the night. Viv Savage took 3rd place with a high energy lead singer and She Says Electric slid into 4th with female lead vocals that set the room on fire. Eklektasy was in 5th placing with another female vocalist that had a glamorous style. In 6th place Lost in the Sun put garage rock in its place, and 7th place went to Hellrazor who rocked out with tons of attitude. The Best Guitarist prize of an OLP Guitar went to Patrick Gavigan from The Turn. The Best Bassist prize of an OLP Bass went to Tobias Jesso of The Sessions, and The Best Drummer award of Sabian Cymbals went to Phil Gardener of The Turn. All the musicians voted Viv Savage as the best band who received an Indie Bible and the musicians atlas. I would also like to thank the bands For No One, Marble Rye, Musa, The Turn, The Void and Andy Collins for participating in this first year of the Emergenza Music Festival in Vancouver. The next step for The Sessions is the Canadian West coast regional final happening in Calgary on June 8th! Thank-you again to all the bands that have made this year an amazing rock experience for the festival and keep it live!!
