Next stop Pittsburgh!!!
It’s the Cincinnati Final. 14 great bands, some prizes, and one band going to Pittsburgh. This was one great night of talent here in Cincinnati. These where the bands that made it to the final here in Cincinnati; Project Axiom, East-Of-Eden, The Infinity Complex, Neverender, Kamel Tow, Show Me Up, Typhoid Mary, Audiodown, My Wasted Youth, Triad, Backseat Virgin, Up & Gone, The Gambling District, and Hedge. This was an unforgettable show for me. Each one of these bands gave a great performance on that stage at the Blue Note.
Taking home the award for Best Band, which was a prize voting on by the bands themselves, went to The Gambling District. The Award for Best Bassist went to the crazy, young, outrageously great bass player for the band Hedge. The Award for Best Guitarist went to the thrashing, slamming guitarist from the band Kamel Tow. This could only leave the Winner of the night, the Band that is going to Pittsburgh. And the winner here in the Cincinnati Final for the year, decided by the judges, our 2006 band is …….. The Infinity Complex!!!! These young guys displayed an all-original set, with an original sound, great vocals, grooving beats, well-placed piano and congas. This young band gave one hell of a performance and truly earned their spot to go to Pittsburgh. Good luck in Pittsburgh Boyz.
I’d like to thank the Blue Note for hosting the Emergenza Rounds this year and showing their support for local music. I also like to thank Kevin from 97.3 for coming out to be a judge, as well as Walter Combi, from Track One Records for being a judge as well. But of course we can’t forget to thank our MC of the night who keep the Blue Note Going all night long, Thank you Bradley from Detroit for coming to Cincinnati and showing us a good time as well. It’s been a hell of a season, and the fun has just begun for The Infinity Complex. Keep up the good work boyz. I’ll see you in Pittsburgh!!
