Vancouver’s Rain Spell left the stage with Puddles of Rock n’Roll!!
Although Vancouver had its record of 29 days of Rain straight this did not stop this weeks bands from bringing in thunder to the venue! The pitter patter outside was no match for the rumbling coming out of the Crate and Ampeg amps!
Thursday made noise with The Koncrete Examples who had an innuendo set, then the Glim Project made everything alright and Marble Rye made a tribute of their own. While Dreams of Treason was anything but ordinary and Porn on the Cob kept the crowd rocking to their set which also included a set of bongo drums. Along Way Home were indeed from out of town but were no chicken little to this stage, and Solace were waiting out the storm, then the band Civil ruin dealt out their set with a song titled “Exit wounds” that led City Stars Foundation’s set into “Handbook for a failed engagement.”
Mister White kicked off Friday with the song titled “Overwhelming”, and The Case were not about to hide with their punk set. Yeah Whatever took control of the stage, paving the way for Skookum to run a montage. Rebecca Ramone played on to the “Dark & Stormy Night,” and the Brown Noise had a catchy set leading Quartered to release their pillar of sound.
Saturday rolled in The Dirt who planted the seed and dug their way into the crowd, while Unlabeled had a direction into a “Candy Flip”. The Weedies had a promising set with the song titled “Maybe Right”, and the Fall of Summer owned what remained of the stage. Dr.Roids were silent but deadly, and Lotus Child had “13 Arrows” that cut through the stage like a night blade.
The last night of Sunday The Resistance had a two man band that started it off, and Marnie Mains had a song titled “Ferris Wheel” that set this night onto a gliding ride of acoustic melodies. Trophy Wife put the pedal to the metal and the Skedaddlers had a song titled “In case there’s a next time” which there will be as they moved onto our semi-finals. And Novastatik had smacks of love that hit the crowd with smile!
